This policy covers cookies and similar browser storage — local storage and session storage — on cakd.app, on the client portals we host for couples, and on the wedding websites planners publish through Cakd. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with personal data once we hold it.
We ask before we store anything that is not strictly necessary. Until you answer, nothing optional loads — not analytics, not advertising measurement. Refusing is exactly as easy as accepting, and it stays that way: you can change or withdraw your answer at any time, without giving a reason, using or the link in the footer of every page.
We record your decision against a version number. If we ever add a category, or materially change what an existing one covers, that version changes and we ask again rather than reusing an old answer to cover a new purpose.
These are required for Cakd to work at all, so they carry no choice and are never used to track you. They are set whether or not you accept anything else.

If you allow analytics, we use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages and guides people find useful, and Vercel Speed Insights to see which pages load slowly. Both are aggregated and anonymous, neither sets an advertising cookie, and neither builds a profile of you. They never receive a guest list, a budget, a supplier contract or anything else you enter about a wedding.

Until you say yes, these scripts are not added to the page and no request is made to them. Withdrawing reloads the page, because a script that has already loaded keeps running until it does.
Advertising is a separate question, and the answer is no unless you say otherwise. If you allow it, we use advertising measurement to tell which adverts brought someone to Cakd and what winning a signup costs us. Our advertising providers act as our processors and may set an advertising cookie once you have allowed this category. Nothing of the kind is loaded if you decline or have not yet chosen.
Allowing analytics does not allow advertising, and allowing advertising does not allow analytics. The two are answered independently.
A wedding website or client portal published through Cakd is hosted by us, so this policy applies to it and guests see the same notice and the same choices. A planner cannot add tracking of their own to those pages.
You can also clear or block storage in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage will sign you out and stop portals from opening, since those are the things it is used for.
